Case Study · Mar 28, 2026 · 7 min read
In January 2026, a Tacoma roofing contractor called us because they were getting no calls from their website. Business was slow. They’d had the site for four years. It had never generated a single verified lead.
What we found
The site loaded in 8.4 seconds on mobile, placing it in the bottom 20% of performance scores. The homepage had no clear headline: just a rotating banner of stock photos and the company name. No call-to-action above the fold. The contact page was buried three clicks deep, and when we tested the form, it was broken.
The Google Business Profile existed but hadn’t been touched since 2023. No photos, no posts, no responses to the six reviews left over the prior year. The listing showed up for the company name but not for any service-based query like “roofer Tacoma” or “roof repair near me.”
What we did
We rebuilt the site from scratch. New hosting delivered a 400% speed improvement. A clear above-the-fold section stated exactly what they do and where they operate. A single primary CTA, “Get a Free Estimate,” visible on every page. Service pages with city-specific content for Tacoma, Lakewood, and Federal Way. A working contact form routing to both email and a CRM.
On the GBP side, we updated every field, added 40 job-site photos, wrote service descriptions, and set up a review request workflow. Within 30 days they had 11 new reviews. By month three they had 34, averaging 4.8 stars.
The results
Month one: 3 inbound leads from the website. Month two: 9. Month three: 14. By month six they were running at 20 to 25 qualified leads per month from organic search alone, with no paid ads. Their close rate was already high because the leads were warm and local.
By July they had to pause new client intake to handle the backlog. As of this writing, they’re booked six weeks out and have hired two additional crew members.
What this actually shows
The work wasn’t magic. It was fixing basic failures: speed, clarity, accessibility, and local presence. The roofing company already had a good reputation and a quality service. The website was just invisible and broken. Fixing those two things unlocked the demand that was already there.
Most businesses in this position don’t need more advertising. They need a website that works.
